CampusYap is a privately funded start-up with its team operating out of Philadelphia, PA. The idea of CampusYap originated out of issues that were being faced by students on campuses. These problems ranged from cluttered inboxes to ineffective real time communication within groups of friends and extra-curricular organizations.

CampusYap was built to solve these problems and then some. It allows you to receive and send updates to and from individuals on campus, your different friends’ circles, and the myriad of organizations that you may be a part of. These updates are meant to be short and relevant in real-time.

The service also allows you to choose how you send and receive messages. You can communicate with your friends and different groups via email, text and/or IM. Similarly, you can choose how you receive updates (if at all) irrespective of how they were sent.
